Terms of Service

Last updated: April 2, 2026

Welcome to 101 Things

By creating an account or using this platform, you agree to these Terms of Service. We've kept them straightforward — please read them carefully.

Your Data, Your Ownership

The content you create on 101 Things belongs to you. You may export your data at any time, on any plan, in CSV format. We believe your data is always yours and we will never sell, share, or monetize it beyond providing you with this service.

Uploaded Images

Luminary subscribers can upload images to their list items. When you upload an image:

  • Images are automatically converted to WebP format and resized to a maximum width of 1200 pixels. Original files are not stored and cannot be recovered. We recommend keeping your own backups of original images.
  • Each account has a storage quota of 1 GB for uploaded images.
  • Uploaded images are only visible to members of the group they belong to.
  • If your Luminary subscription is canceled or payment fails, your uploaded photos will be retained for 30 days. After 30 days without an active Luminary subscription, all uploaded photos will be permanently deleted.
  • Re-subscribing to Luminary within the 30-day period will preserve all uploaded photos.

Acceptable Use

101 Things is designed for families, friends, and groups to share lists and collaborate. To keep the platform safe for everyone:

  • All uploaded images must be family-friendly.
  • Content depicting illegal activity, nudity, adult material, or extreme violence is strictly prohibited.
  • You are responsible for complying with all applicable copyright laws for any content you link to or upload.
  • Uploaded images and image URLs you add to list items must be family-friendly and comply with all applicable laws. You are responsible for the content you upload or link to.

Content Moderation

We have no desire to view or police your content. However, if content is reported that violates these terms:

  • The account owner responsible will be immediately suspended and their subscription canceled without refund.
  • Where required, law enforcement will be contacted and the account will be preserved for investigation.
  • Suspended content will not be visible to other group members or included in any data exports.

If something in your group upsets you but does not violate these terms or the law, we encourage you to simply leave the group. You may export your list data before doing so.

To report a violation, contact us at: support@101things.org

Subscriptions & Payment

Free accounts (Dreamer tier) have no cost and no payment required. Paid subscriptions (Explorer, Achiever, Luminary) are billed monthly through Stripe. You may cancel at any time — your plan remains active until the end of the current billing cycle.

If payment fails and is not resolved, your account may be suspended. Upon payment suspension, you will have 30 days to export your data, after which time your data may be permanently deleted.

We do not store credit card numbers or financial details. All payment processing is handled by Stripe and subject to their terms of service. We retain only transaction records (amounts, dates, and your email) as required by law.

Group Owner Responsibilities

As a group owner, you have the ability to remove members from your group and to delete the group entirely. When doing so:

  • Removing a member permanently deletes all of their list items and data from the group. The member will not be able to rejoin or recover their data.
  • Deleting a group permanently deletes all member data, list items, and the group itself.
  • It is the group owner's responsibility to export and provide data to affected members before removing them or deleting the group.

Account Deletion

You may delete your account at any time from the Settings page. Upon deletion, any groups you own will be deleted along with all member data in those groups. It is your responsibility to export your data and notify group members before deleting your account. Active subscriptions will be automatically canceled.

Governing Law

By using this platform, you agree to comply with all applicable United States and State of Florida laws with regards to any content and material entered into this site.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the platform after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. Material changes will be communicated via email.
